Russia has moved a division of advanced Russian Iskander tactical ballistic missile systems to Crimea that have a range of 500 kilometers and are capable of carrying nuclear warheads, Major-General Oleksandr Rozmaznin, spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported on Thursday, December 4.

“The Iskander division has been moved to the territory of occupied Crimea. This is a tactical operational system that has replaced the Tochka system. The earlier one had one rocket; this one has two. This system has a range of up to 500 kilometers,” he said, according to LigaBusinessInform.

Rozmaznin also expressed concern about the nuclear threat represented by the missile system.

“I will say that this is definitely very bad because any rocket complex is capable of carrying nuclear warheads of specified capacity. This is why the very presence of the Iskander gives reason to believe there is a certain threat,” he said.

According to Rozmaznin, artillery systems of a certain caliber also have the ability to carry low-power nuclear warheads, but Iskander is a system that can now deliver a high-power nuclear charge. It also can  be used to carry cluster munitions warheads.

“The presence of this system in occupied Crimea is clearly a reason to consider counteractive measures,” he said.

Earlier, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin had announced that Russia has been steadily increasing its military presence in Crimea and that new shock troop units of the Russian Federation were being formed on the occupied territory.

I guess the Russian terrorists were not satisfied by only taking down one airplane of innocent civilians….

I wonder what Obama now thinks about his ‘reset’ with Russia and the cancellation of the missile defense shield in Eastern Europe? Of course he will never admit he was wrong, but we’ll continue to get all kinds of platitudes about how effective the sanctions are working. The realty is he has been incredibly lucky the price of oil has dropped so significantly because without that, Putin would be much bolder. As it is now, only Ukraine, and a few friendly countries are even interested in standing up to Russia.

No doubt the bumbling stooge in the WH right now has unleashed this KGB reptile. Along with the ridiculous rhetorical reset and pulling missiles out of Poland and Czech Republic, he diluted the US military at a level equal to Yanukovych. Obviously, Mitt Romney should be POTUSA right now. At this point, only dissent from within will unseat the dwarf megalomaniac.

That so called”reset” was a term used by chief Iraq invader “W” when he looked into Czar Putin’s eyes and saw a “honest soul”. All this was a real setup by Putin to make the US believe that a new world had begun. Bull shit. He is no different than any other Russian dictator. It is time to get a President who is a leader but not a buffoon worrying about who invades Texas. Get rid of the professional politicians and the lawyers. David Petraeus would be a good fit and he knows what war is. That is the stage we are in anyway. Eisenhower is dead but there are some outstanding generals in the wings.

Do you mean Gulf War II? That one was mandated by the UN, not President Bush. With all things UN and/or NATO, nothing can be done unless the USA does it and carries other countries with it, so we tend to be the dominant force in things, but it was carrying out the UN Mandate….the terms of the cessation of hostilities of Gulf War I….aka the terms of ‘surrender’. Saddam never fulfilled that agreement and kept violating them.

When President Bush stated about trusting/working with putin, he knew putin was on the edge and starting to slip back towards his kgb apelike being, so President Bush publicly vouched for him, trying to keep him going, evolving into a human. Don’t ever think that President Bush (W) or his VP Cheney ever thought putin was anything he wasn’t. They were trying to play the hand that was on the table.
