Putin caught himself on Ukraine

Article by: Viktor Kasparuk

Throughout the past seventy years, the European borders have been wondrously stable. Everything change in the past seven months, after Moscow’s annexation of Ukrainian Crimea and the Russian armed invasion in the East of Ukraine. Putin closed the Winter Olympics in Sochi and immediately opened a new Cold War era, with instability, borderline conflicts, invasions and wars.

However, no matter how much the Kremlin elder would want it to happen, Russia cannot afford to be an empire. And thought the Russian Federation includes nine time zones and is the biggest in the world in terms of territory, its population is inadvertently becoming smaller and older. And its number is now smaller than in Bangladesh.

Birth rates are falling irreversibly. Alcoholism is destroying Russia, by turning marriage for Russian women into a game of Russian roulette. More than half of the men die before they turn sixty and death rates are higher than in third-world countries to the south of the Sahara. However, Putin spends the money that should have gone to healthcare on invading Ukraine.

Putin has diminished himself to the extreme in terms of morals because of his expenditures on the war with Ukraine: he started robbing his own familiar, patriotic oligarchs. If this continues, soon he will take on the most sacred: the Cheka community.

He is ready to enter a conflict with the entire world, but he will not step away from his insane ideas regarding Ukraine. Right now it looks similar to how they catch apes in India. They use pumpkins as bait, they make a hole and put grain inside. The ape puts is hand in, gets the grain, but cannot get its fist out anymore: to do this, it has to unclench its hand and let go of the grain, but the ape does not.

And when the hunters approach it, the ape screams, yells, falls into hysteria of fright, but it does not unclench its fist on principle. About the same is happening with Putin. However, in this case, he voluntarily caught himself on Ukraine.

Only after he invaded Ukrainian territory and clenched Crimea in his imperialistic fist did it become clear that it is impossible for him to let go. However, this was too little for him, and Putin put his other hand in Eastern Ukraine, thus provoking a situation even apes would avoid there.

Russia fights ‘separatism’ in Ukraine

However, it is a huge mistake to see Putin as the only reason. The problem is that the Russian elite, just like the majority of Russian society, does not want to understand that Ukraine is no longer part of Russia. Therein lies the root of today’s war in the Ukrainian Near East.

Russians subconsciously think that Ukraine is not an independent state, that these are some rebellious territories who only by accident were called a country, and Russia’s laws, including the law on anti-separatism, spread to them as well.

Which is why Russians are fighting ‘separatism’ in Ukraine, and they are absolutely convinced that any of their bloody actions are legitimate and justifiable. Just like the destruction of Chechnya was justifiable to them, the murder in Luhansk and Donbas are fair for them.

Therefore, it is permissible to allow Lavrov and Churkin to lies on the international arena, to commit any vile act, any crime in the name of preserving Russia’s alleged territorial integrity through annexation of Ukrainian territories.

Putin, who declared numerous times that Ukraine had illegally withdrawn from the USSR, thinks that his terrorist campaign in Ukraine is a completely legitimate return of Ukrainians back under the Kremlin’s total control.

Therefore, we cannot exclude the possibility that in the nearest future, in response to new sanctions against Russia on part of the democratic global community, Putin’s Basmanny District Court in Moscow will make the ‘legitimate’ decision that Ukraine received its independence by illegal means, which is why the invasion of the Russian Armed Forces to Ukraine is completely grounded in its legitimacy.

Because, this way, Ukraine is de jure still part of the USSR and therefore part of Russia as the USSR’s successor. And as Ukraine withdrew from the USSR ‘illegitimately,’ Ukraine is still part of Russia.

Russians have imperialistic grandeur imposed on them

This is approximately the perverse logic Putin’s regime uses when conducting an armed invasion on Ukrainian soil. However, here a couple of words should be said in support of Russia’s President, Putin. He is only the master of the Cheka community, and in his actions Putin mirrors the plans of the majority of the Russians hypnotized by Putin’s state television, which have ideas of imperialistic grandeur imposed on them.

If Putin were in any way interested in recent history, they should have reported to him that Russia, under the leadership of Boris Yeltsin, left the USSR before Ukraine and Belarus. And it left having taken all of the Ukrainians’ savings, the entire gold reserve fund, most of the weaponry, almost all buildings of diplomatic, trade and finance representations of the USSR outside the country.

However, if we try to use Putin’s personal logic, in this case modern Russia is not a legal state, as in this case, it exited the USSR absolutely illegally itself.

Putin is trying to avoid responsibility through war

However, the main reason for the Russia-Ukraine 2014 war is the fact that ‘Putin’s genius’ grasped that the Russian people are dissatisfied with his rule: the economy was on the brink of stagnation, the Russians are humiliated, and there are thousands of political prisoners in jail.

Therefore, having understood that the people’s anger was on the rise, and there were more discontented people with each passing day, Putin decided to buy his own indulgence and insure himself against a popular uprising. To his mind, the best decision was to invade Ukraine.

He decided to play on the feelings and hopes of Russians, zombifying them with imperialistic crap. After Crimea and Eastern Ukraine Putin became a hero in the eyes of the marginal part of Russian society, the chauvinists and the fascists.

Russians were told by zombie television that their enemy is the Ukrainian nation which rebelled against Yanukovych’s regime, and the hypnotized Russians were ready to become cannon fodder for the sake of their cruel oppressor.

Having created the image of the enemy, Putin got nation-wide love and a rise in marginal imperialistic chauvinism. But today the Russian Federation is a country with a zombified population and the Russians’ enemy is not in Ukraine but in the Kremlin. He is a cruel and vile criminal and manipulator.

However, in the case of Ukraine, Putin beat himself at his own game. It is clear that Putin’s regime has reached such a level of manipulating the people’s consciousness, that if Putin’s TV officially declared today that the buildings with people in Russia (before the war in Chechnya) were blown up by the FSB, because it was a requirement for state security, and if needs be, the FSB will continue blowing them up, the Russian marginal population would accept it with absolute calm and no spare emotions. Just like any lying information which comes officially from the Russian state.

But having caught himself on Ukraine, Putin, who managed throughout his fifteen years of ruling Russia to cultivate a special breed of people, which approves everything he does in the name of the state with silent consent, did not account for one very important factor.

There is a completely different population in Ukraine. The Ukrainian people do not wish to live in a totalitarian state, which Putin’s Russia is today. And to stand for this democratic and European choice, they are ready to fight and win.
