According to the latest peace agreements of the Ukrainian government with the leaders of the Russian-backed “separatists” in Donbas in Minsk. Following it, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko drafted a law by which Donbas was granted a “special status” for three years, including a special self-governance status. This law has evoked criticism from many parts of Ukrainian society, including Serhiy Taruta, Governor of the Donetsk State Oblast Administration.

The regional news portal of the city of Donetsk, www.62.ua, ran a poll asking its readers how they are prepared to live under “separatist” rule.

As of September 30, 2624 people responded to the questionnaire posted on the web site

Question: “The Ukrainian parliament passed the law ‘On special status of some territories in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.’ Practical implementation of this law would mean that Donetsk will continue to stay under control of DNR for at least three years. If this would become a reality, what will you do?”

Answers:

42.7% responders noted that they will leave and move to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government.

27.6% checked “Would be glad to leave, but don’t have any practical means for that”

4.7% specified that they are planning to move to Russia.

And a quarter of all responders – 25.1% confirmed that they will stay in Donetsk.

FINALLY! Considering 58% of the residents of Donetsk and Lugansk are ethnic Ukrainians, and not even all ethnic Russians in the region want to live under Russia’s boot heel, this makes way more sense than the Russian and terrorist propaganda and the staged referendum in Donbass. As the occupation and lawlessness of the Donbass continues, this will likely even become more of a majority.

WHY AREN’T THE VOICES OF THESE CITIZENS OF UKRAINE BEING LISTENED TO BY THE UNITED NATIONS, OSCE, EU, U.S. AND NATO? THEY ARE THE FORGOTTEN ONES THAT ARE THE VICTIMS OF THE TERRORISTS, THUGS, EXTORTIONISTS AND CRIMINALS RUSSIA HAS UNLEASHED.

Yesterday I read an article about an undecided woman in Donetsk who was reluctant to endure the changes in the entire system being imposed now. She clearly complained, in her words,”We got dumped” and I can understand how she feels.

There have been thousands of Crimean Ukrainians who have relocated to west Ukraine and beyond. It’s as if a major ethnic cleansing is going on and no one has noticed! Same thing is happening in the overtaken eastern section now.
