The head of the President’s party, Petro Poroshenko’s Block, Yury Lutsenko calls the “occupied parts” of Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts “cancerous tumors of Ukraine’s organism,” for the treatment of which Ukraine needs to make money. Lutsenko wrote this on his Facebook page.
According to him, “we cannot allow for this tumor… to have veto power over treatment.”
“The peace plan transfers the fight for Donbas onto economic tracks. It will be a competition between East and Wester Germany, divided by a wall. We know how unrecognized pro-Russian regions degrade, judging from Abkhazia and Transnistria,” writes Lutsenko.
“To win in this competition we need to carry out radical reforms, an assertive battle against corruption and receive a new Marshall Plan from the West. 5-7 multibillion investments from the US, Germany, China or France would be the best guarantee of our victory over Soviet Luganda (ed: derogatory slag term for the unrecognized republics),” noted the former Minister of Internal Affairs.
On September 5 in Minsk, representatives of Ukraine, Russia, the OSCE and pro-Russian separatists signed a protocol on the results of the consolations of the trilateral contact group regarding joint efforts aimed to implement the peace plan of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and the initiatives of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Both conflict sides in Donbas have already reported on the violations of the ceasefire which the protocol had established and accused the opponents of violating the agreements.
