Crimea admits it cannot provide for the peninsula without Ukraine

Importing products from Russia is problematic.

The self-proclaimed Crimean government acknowledges that it is impossible to supply Crimea with food and consumer products from Russia. This was stated by Nickolai Kochanov, the so-called temporary head of the Russian Federal Tax Service, Crimea division.

“You know that the Kerch ferry situation is complicated, so we are unable to fully supply ourselves with food products and other necessary goods. That’s why talks were held with seven large retail networks. These were Komfi, Foxtrot, Furchet, Fozzi, ATB, Silpo, and Fresh. They are registered in Crimea [despite originating in Ukraine], have Crimean legal status, and all their taxes are paid in the Republic of Crimea,” said Kochanov.

The delivery situation is expected to become even more complicated this autumn since the Kerch ferry is already working at full capacity and, when  the autumn and winter storms arrive, it will occasionally have to be shut down.

The unrecognized government also complained that, due to price gouging, the difference between wholesale and retail prices for agricultural products has reached 100-300%. It has been reported that Ukrainian items are currently 50% cheaper than not only Russian products, but also even  Crimean goods.

Problems with supplying the peninsula are not likely to be solved until 2018, when the bridge across the Kerch Strait is completed. Remember, the EU Council approved and put into effect new restrictions [sanctions] on trade and investment in Crimea and Sevastopol.

Now that’s what I call thinking things through.

Poo Tin is KGB. Not programmed to think about humanitarian issues. Just war and covert strategies and how to be a master of deception.

Now the Ukrainian govt should not provide aid unless it is clear there is no profit from Russian companies or there is no tax from sales or profits going to Russia as a result of products being made available. BEcause those similar sanctions are applied to other EU countries. But of course, the Russia has the option to default and take their flags down.

      Option 2.
Ukraine can provide humanitarian Aid the same as might be given to victims of war – like in Africa or Syria etc.
For this to happen, Russia must reduce its military presence and guarantee corridors for humanitarian aid.
The aid should only be provided to Ukrainian Passport Holders.
The Russian passport holders might have to learn some hard lessons about reality and loyalty.

the criminal in running the criminal organization called ‘the russian orthodox church’ in russia, kirill, is also kgb and corrupt to the core.

Everything about russia has always been about crime and corruption, but since putin got rid of yeltsin and took the reins, it’s now organized crime, a russia completely ran by the kgb and criminals.

  • Milton Devonair

What, didn’t those russian invaders that took over your country bring supplies to?
They didn’t? Oh yeah, they’re russian, so they figured they could just loot and steal whatever they need….

    • garyoptica

Putin and his ex soviet cronies only fill their own pockets and do not care about ordinary Russians unless they will die for them to keep them in corrupt power for ever.

    • Murf

Well yea, I mean, that’s what they always do, is it? Why should Crimea be any different?

  • Donald Casavant

I guess it wold not be proper or humane just to let those traitors die a death from hunger to show the rest of the world what happens when you sell out your country and join Russia. OK…I won’t say that or write that, but I’m thinking it!

    • garyoptica

Did Crimeans really have a choice because the referendum was as rigged as Putins instalment by Duma and his last election and the result is chauvinist driven death and corruption.

” Only the citizens of Russia can remove them from power by peaceful protest on the 5th and 17th of August in Moscow rallies.”

      • Donald Casavant

I think that most of them did have a choice, not in the vote, but they could have left or not gotten a Russian passport, but who am I to judge.

Strange… I Don’t see any pro-russian comment. First time on the internet ?

The putin-gandist accounts (probably three of them with 20 different accounts), must still be waiting for their talking points to be given to them.

        This could easily be true.

A story I heard from my father, who lived in New York City in th 1930s and 1940s.

At that time, there were Communist soapbox orators on many street corners. During 1939 and 1940, i.e., during the Hitler-Stalin pact, they all took the position that America should stay out of WW II. Hitler’s blitzkrieg was rolling across Europe, but America should not get involved, they said.

In June, 1941, Hitler invaded Russia. The next day, the soapbox orators vanished. Gone, completely. For five days They hadn’t received their orders from Moscow, and had no idea what they were supposed to say about the situation.

Five days later, they reappeared, and now they were all shouting that America should join the war against Hitler, exactly the opposite of what they had been saying five days earlier. They had finally received the party line. My father said he laughed and laughed.

Yup….the communists/leftists are all about “organizing” and one of the reasons they can do it is they lie so much about the base desires of people–fairness, “the rich”, etc.

This is why they always try and control “the masses”.
