The Ministry of Finance considers introducing  a military tax of 1,5% on the incomes earned by individual taxpayers.

This was stated at a briefing on Friday by the deputy Minister of Finance Volodymyr Matviychuk, reports “Ukrayinski Novyny.”

“We agreed with the Parliament members’ proposals regarding the possibility of introducing a special military salary tax of 1,5%,” he said.

According to the deputy Minister of Finance, the introduction of this tax will result in 2,9 billion UAH in revenue by the end of 2014, which will be spent on military and defence.

“We have got to direct these funds to the state budget fund at this difficult moment,” – Matviychuk said.

Among other plans to increase the army’s budget, he named the decrease of state officials’ salaries.
