Russian pilot accuses Russian Defense Ministry of lying about the Boeing 777

The version of the Russian Defense Ministry that the Malaysian Boeing 777 was downed by a Ukrainian Su-25 does not withstand any criticism.

This was stated on Twitter by Russian civil activist Dmitriy Gudkov citing Russian hero pilot Sergey Nefedov.

“The DM’s version is complete bull for internal consumption. The Su-25 has a ceiling of 5,6 km, the height of the target is 7 km max,” Gukov cites the pilot’s words.

Nefedov also noted that the Su-25 is an old vehicle and it would be difficult for it “to even reach the ceiling.”

As is known, the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 which was flying route MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed on the evening of July 17th in Donetsk oblast of Ukraine. All 298 people onboard died. Among the victims of the crash are citizens of 10 states. The biggest number of victims are among Netherlands citizens (192). There are 10 British people among the victims of the tragedy.
